Plant-Based Foods & Protein Ingredients Summit
Two days of the trip will be dedicated to the Bridge2Food 15th Plant-Based Foods & Protein Ingredients Summit North-America. The Plant-Based Foods & Protein Ingredients Summit in Toronto offers companies with a focus on protein an excellent platform to showcase their brand, launch new products, expand relationships with Canadian partners. During the Summit, the companies have the opportunity to connect with food producers, growers, breeders, investors, research institutes and the government.
This unique Summit will enable brands to validate their strategies and develop new opportunities with key partners, retailers, and foodservice channels.
Protein collaboration between Canada and the Netherlands
Canada is investing on a large scale to become a world leader in the field of Plant-Based Proteins. To make this happen, the Protein Industries Canada “Supercluster” was formed in 2018. In 2019 many Dutch companies visited the Canadian prairies to attend the Protein Summits. The Dutch government initiated a high-level delegation from the Netherlands to discuss collaboration in plant-based proteins with Canadian partners. In addition to the official delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality (LNV), delegates from Wageningen University & Research, NIZO and Bridge2Food were also present. This meeting is considered a successful milestone by both Canadian and Dutch parties. This trade mission and the visit to the Plant-Based Foods & Protein Summit are a direct result from the meeting and the intention to cooperate more actively.
